I was pointed to this article with Dick Cheney’s opinions in it.
And this is what is really happening in the world. The US of A spends more than the next ten highest spending nations combined. The US spends more on weapons than the next ten nations spend on defense combined. TEN nations. They aren’t even allies who would group together to attack the US.
Darth Cheney from the article:
“That ought to be our top priority for spending. Not food stamps, not highways or anything else,” Cheney said. “Your No. 1 responsibility as president is to support and defend the Constitution of the United States. [Obama] is the commander-in-chief and he’s absolutely devastating the United States military today.”
I really have a hard time not bringing in some Monty Python here — “Don’t give me that you snotty faced heap of parrot droppings.”
We spend more than the next ten nations on making people and things that kill human beings. This…. fucker would rather our own people starve so that we can go kill others. “Not highways or anything else”. Education, Dick, you ridiculous git. Education is the only way we are going to advance as a country and a culture. Highways and bridges, electrical grids and water management — (there might be some sarcasm here) yeah they are useless.
Why do people listen to this jackass?
You know what? The number one responsibility of the President of the United States of America is taking care of the people of the United States of America. People. Over the last two decades, I have come to the conclusion that Cheney and his Republican friends don’t give a shit about people. They have a nebulous vision of “America”, and they have totally neglected “Americans.”
And it pisses me off.
” The US spends more on weapons than the next ten nations spend on defense combined. TEN nations. They aren’t even allies who would group together to attack the US.”
He doesn’t even have a rationale for why we need to pump more money into defense. It’s “just because”. All while our infrastructure is crumbling.
“Education, Dick, you ridiculous git.”
Do you have any idea how hard it was for me to say this aloud-once. Let alone 5 times fast. I stumbled so many times. It was fun trying.
“And it pisses me off.”
I wish we had more people who woke up to the problems in the use, because our shared anger is *more* than justified.
